Reports from London indicate that the family of Iraqi Shiite religious leader Muqtada al-Sadr has moved into a newly purchased mansion in a luxurious London neighbourhood. This report indicates that Muqtada al-Sadr himself has not yet been seen in the property.
According to a news lead posted on petitiononline.uk, a luxurious mansion in the Stanmore neighbourhood of London has recently been sold, and the buyer is none other than Muqtada al-Sadr. A 3.5 million pounds property that is nothing short of a beautiful and luxurious hideout, with a huge garden and plenty of rooms for Muqtada’s family and friends.
The news of this purchase went public when the neighbouring residents of the Stanmore area made a petition to the City of London in a civil action, demanding that the situation of Muqtada al-Sadr and his leadership over terrorist groups in Iraq be clarified. They pleaded to London City Hall to prevent Muqtada and his family from staying in the Stanmore neighbourhood. The petition calls for cancelling the purchase of the said property. Residents of London’s Stanmore area have cited Muqtada’s ties to Iraqi terrorist groups as the reason for their grievances and are seeking the support of various people in Stanmore to fulfill their demands.
According to a law passed by the UK Parliament called the Terrorism Act 2000, the British government has no right to trade or support the groups named in the Proscribed Terrorist Groups or Organisations document, and is obligated to punish violators severely.
