Impact of War on the Countries Involved in the Middle East Conflict: Revenge is Fair

After assassination of Haniyeh in Iran by Israel and Iran’s profound right to defend its unity and sovereignty, countries supporting Israel are worried. They are looking for peace in the region, while arming Israel. What is the wisdom behind West countries mediation when they support war in Palestine? They attack and then ask for peace. Stop mocking the world. The impact of war on the countries involved in the Middle East conflict cannot be ignored.

Many countries such as the UK are looking for peace to de-escalate the tension in the Middle East. They are actually looking to keep their own benefits safe. However, some countries like UK are arming Israel to support it, while ignoring killing of many people in Palestine. Meanwhile, Israel and the world are living in the fear of Iran’s Revenge. They cannot predict when and how it will be, but the fear is paralyzing them.

Middle East conflict: The West World is worried about Its Benefits Not Humans being Killed

The ongoing war in Palestine has a profound impact that goes beyond its geographical boundaries, bringing instability to the Western world; It ultimately results in tensions, challenges, and very complicating dilemmas that transcend through Europe’s social and political landscapes. The Israel-Hamas war is not a distant matter, it is an inevitable challenge for the West.

The Western world maintains a profound interest in the Israel-Hamas war, primarily due to its potential to disrupt the global order. Furthermore, the Middle East stands as a region of great importance, given its abundant natural resources. Historically, conflicts in the Middle East have often resulted in an increase in oil prices due to the region’s significant role in global energy production. The repercussions of the Israel-Hamas conflict on the global financial markets will hinge on the extent of involvement of major powers.

Pressure on Western governments to Address the Conflict

There are several key reasons why governments are facing pressure to address this conflict. There are humanitarian concerns, as there have been numerous lives lost, and human rights violations are prevalent. Palestinians are experiencing severe shortages in access to water, power, and food. The conflict attracts attention from political left-wing parties.

The Middle East holds significant strategic importance for Western governments due to its influence on regional stability and security. The historical legacy of Western colonialism in the Middle East has left a considerable historical and moral burden. This historical context further compels Western governments to engage with the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.

Impact of war on the countries involved in the Middle East conflict: Revenge is Fair, West Mediation is Funny

What is the wisdom behind West countries mediation when they support war in Palestine? They attack and then ask for peace. Stop mocking the world.  Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei said Israel had provided the grounds for “harsh punishment for itself”. It was Tehran’s duty to avenge Haniyeh’s death.

Qatar, which along with Egypt has been brokering talks aimed at halting the fighting in Gaza, condemned Haniyeh’s killing. “How can mediation succeed when one party assassinates the negotiator on other side?” Acting Iranian Foreign Minister told members “It is expected” that they support Iran’s response to the killing. “Iran’s action is a defense of its own sovereignty and national security. It is also a defense of the stability and security of the entire region,” he said.

UK and US Arming Israel While Looking for Peace in the Middle East

The US said it hoped OIC members would caution Iran against taking “steps to escalate the conflict”. A statement later released by the OIC said the bloc holds Israel “fully responsible” for the “heinous attack”. US State Department spokesman Matthew Miller said that the US hoped “all parties that have a relationship with Iran impress upon Iran. The same way we’ve been impressing upon the government of Israel, that they shouldn’t take any steps to escalate the conflict”.

In a phone call on Wednesday, French president Emmanuel Macron told Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian that an Iranian escalation “would lastingly harm regional stability.” Pezeshkian told Macron that if the West wants to prevent war it “should immediately stop selling arms and supporting” Israel, his office said.

Legitimate Right of Palestine for Recognition: UK Supports Palestine but Arms Israel

Ahmed Attaf said the failure to implement the “historic and legitimate right” of Palestine to create an independent State is the cause of this conflict. “The Council has a historic and decisive responsibility to act immediately to impose the two-State solution,” he stressed.  Moreover, granting Palestine full membership in the United Nations will consolidate the two-State solution and build the peace process on solid foundations.

However, the United Kingdom’s representative stressed that “recognition cannot come at the start of the process. However, it does not have to be the very end of the process”. “London will recognize a Palestinian State at a time that is most conducive to the peace process,” she underscored that “but pathway must start with fixing the immediate crisis in Gaza”.

Impact of war on the countries involved in the Middle East conflict: Countries of UNSC Condemning Israel

Countries of the United Nations Security Council (UNSC) have condemned the assassination of Haniyeh in Iran. They called for stepped-up diplomatic efforts to prevent an all-out war in the Middle East. Iran’s UN Ambassador Amir Saeid Iravani said Tehran has consistently exercised maximum restraint but reserved its right to respond decisively to Haniyeh’s assassination.

Fu Cong, China’s ambassador to the UN, went on to describe Haniyeh’s killing as “a blatant attempt to sabotage peace efforts”. Russia too described Haniyeh’s assassination as “a serious blow” for truce talks. Shino Mitsuko, Japan’s deputy UN representative, said, “We fear the region is at the brink of all-out-war”. He urged increased international efforts to prevent such a conflict.  London’s UN Ambassador reiterated a call for an immediate ceasefire in Gaza.

Impact of War on the countries involved in the Middle East Conflict: What will happen?

Nobody wants war. Tehran has made that very clear in the last nine months. The same is with Hezbollah and Lebanon. Lebanon itself is not in any position to bear the consequences of any kind of full-out war with Israel, simply because Israel tends to target civilian infrastructure.

However, continued Israeli provocations could end up driving the region into a war. The question is, just what is going to end up being the tipping point? It’s difficult to say if this will be it. But if there are no red lines put on Israel, then Israel will continue to do what it thinks it can get away with. It was not only an assassination but a provocation for a wider conflict with Iran. It was really an attack on a state, on a very important state event inside Iran. Haniyeh was in Iran on a diplomatic visa, diplomatic passport as a guest for a very important state event. To kill him there, essentially, is attacking that presidential inauguration.
